Modular synthesizer enthusiasts looking for an extremely versatile sound shaping tool will be impressed with the erica synths Black Ring-Xfade, a Eurorack module with two unconventional ringmodulators/waveshapers, a crossfader that works with both audio and CV, and a VCA.

Unlike conventional ringmodulator that work only with a signal present on both signal and carrier inputs, the Black Ring-Xfade passes the signal through without alterationļæ½if no carrier is present, low-level signals on the carrier input result in unique waveshaping. Add the crossfader between two ringmodulators (or for external signals) topped off with the VCA, and you have an amplitude modulation powerhouse for your modular system. The module includes a power ribbon cable and a set of mounting screws.
